First Baptist Church of Hicksville is an independent, Bible-believing Baptist church. We exist to glorify God, proclaim His truth, and help each other become more like Jesus. We hold the Bible as our only rule for faith and practice, and we gather each week to worship God through careful, scriptural services.
Founded in 1955, our church has been serving the Hicksville community for 71 years. We are grateful for God's faithfulness and continue to seek His will for our ministry today.
What to Expect When You Visit
When you walk through our doors, you'll find a church that loves God, loves His Word, and loves people. Our services are carefully structured around Scripture — we sing, pray, and listen as God speaks through His Word.

Families & Children
We believe children should worship together with their parents. During the sermon, children are invited out for a Bible lesson designed just for them, and a nursery is available for young children.
Sunday Mornings & Midweek
Sunday mornings begin with Bible classes for all ages — children, teens, and adults — followed by our worship service. On Wednesday evenings we gather for a service of Bible study and prayer, open to everyone.

Meet Our Pastor
Pastor James Fesh has served as the pastor of First Baptist Church of Hicksville since 2024. He is committed to careful preaching and teaching of the Bible and shepherding God’s people with love.
Pastor Fesh is a native of the Northeast. He and his wife Victoria have three children whom they are committed to raising around the truth of God’s word.
What We Believe
Our beliefs are grounded in the Bible, which we hold to be the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. Here is a summary of what we teach from Scripture.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It is our only rule for faith and practice — completely sufficient for teaching, correction, and guiding us in how to live for Christ.

God
We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, equal in power and glory, and each is fully God.

Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and performed mighty miracles. He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, was buried, and rose bodily from the grave on the third day. He ascended to heaven and will one day return in power and glory.

Salvation
We believe salvation is a free gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not earned by our good works or religious efforts — it is given by God's grace alone. When a person repents of their sin and trusts in Christ, they are forgiven, made new, and given eternal life.

The Church
We believe the church is the family of God — all who have trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation. The local church is a gathering of baptized believers who meet together for worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, and service. We are called to make disciples of all nations.

Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We believe Christ gave His church two practices to observe. Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, symbolizing their death to sin and new life in Christ. The Lord's Supper is a time of remembering our Savior's death until He returns, as we gather around the table together.
